When you trade on Morpher you're trading virtual futures, where the underlying market is a stock price, commodity, cryptocurrency, etc. As with normal futures, you don't earn dividends, but only speculate on the price. It's a different investment use-case.
However, I'd like to take a stab at your statement "this is the only real point in owning stocks" 😉
As a means of rewarding shareholders, would you prefer that company management issue a higher dividend or engage in stock buybacks?
I would say that there are considerable arguments for buybacks as opposed to dividends based off tax implications alone. Those buybacks would be reflected in price-action. Don't get me wrong, I love a juicy dividend yield, but it's not the only thing that keeps me invested.
Anyways, dividends are hard to implement on a smart contract level, but it's still good feedback that we can take into consideration when planning more features.
